Burst out of the classroom with Scout Activity Centres.
The Scout Association is the UK’s largest mixed youth organisation, with over 100 years of experience. This makes us the ideal choice for your primary or secondary school’s outdoor trip. So whether you want to bring your class for an afternoon of adventure as a reward, a weeks’ visit based around team working and citizenship or a particular subject area, we have a programme to fulfil your needs.
In Scouting, our aim is simple – to help the individual achieve their full physical, intellectual, social and economic potential. Young people develop most when they are 'learning by doing’, when they are given responsibility, work in teams, take acceptable risks and think for themselves. All these things can be achieved during a visit to one of our Scout Activity Centres.
Our dedicated centre teams are on hand to guide you through each stage of planning and delivering the perfect outdoor experience. We can deliver as much of the programme as you like, designing a bespoke experience and taking into account your specific objectives for the trip.
Choose from our range flexible programme options, designed to suit the requirements of every group:
Education and adventure programme – We will work with you to design a bespoke programme filled with activities from breakfast until supper time. Our staff will lead all parts of the programme for you, leaving you and your staff to enjoy the experience with your students. Full catering options are available and a choice of indoor or camping accommodation.
Self programme – This unique programme is aimed at teachers who would like to take a more active role in delivering their school trip. You simply book your chosen accommodation (indoor or camping) and then select any number of our instructed activities to fit into your programme.
Activity days – If you are local to one of our centres, why not come for the day and experience a few of our activities? You could even make it a regular visit.
We welcome you and your colleagues to come and visit us at your own convenience. Choose one of our pre-arranged open days throughout the year. Or organise a more suitable date with our team where we will be happy to give you a tour of the site and discuss your requirements in more detail.
In-school visits
The centre teams can also come to you. Whether you want an informal chat about your visit, assistance with a parent’s evening or assembly, or you would like us to organise an in-school taster session, just let us know.
Equally as important is the preparation and the follow up once you’re back in school. We recognise this, which is why we have developed a number of pre- and post-trip lesson ideas and resources.
